Paula Franklin

Paula Franklin is a Senior Researcher at the ETUI whose work explores the intersections of employment and working conditions, health, and gender. Her current research focuses on work-related psychosocial risks, and occupational safety & health in the health and social care sector. She is a member of the Eurofound Advisory Committee for Working Conditions and Sustainable Work. 

Paula acts as an independent expert for the World Health Organisation on health equity, and the European Commission on gender and health. She has been an Honorary Researcher at Newcastle University Population Health Sciences Institute, and Durham University Centre for Public Policy and Health, and she held a post-Doctoral Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellowship (2012-2015) at Durham University, UK. Paula was awarded a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Surrey Roehampton, UK in 2006; and has concluded a Master’s degree in Adult Education at the University of Helsinki.
