Sara holds a PhD on Political Science and Law by the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha entitled “Democracy at work under Europeanisation. An institutional and socio-political analysis of worker representation on boards”. She has lectured on structure of the enterprise, labour relations and collective bargaining, and assesses dissertations in the Master on Work Sciences at ULB. Sara counts with number of publications and a large experience in advising practitioners and stakeholders on her fields of expertise. She is a member of the editing committee of Travail, Emploi, Formation, and a co-founder of the interdisciplinary Democratizing Work global network and the Spanish Plataforma por la Democracia Económica. Before joining the ETUI as a researcher, Sara held an Early Stage Researcher position at the ULB within the Marie Curie ITN Changing Employment project, conducting research on multi-level European industrial relations in outsourcing contexts and the networked transnational firm. Prior to that, she was a practising labour lawyer in Spain for four years. She has a Master 2 in research on Legal Theory and Analysis by the EHESS, Université Paris X-Nanterre and ENS-Ulm and a double Licenciatura in Law and Political Science by the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid.
